How to Print Coloring Pages From an iPhone or iPad

On an iPhone, open the app that contains the item you want to print. Tap the Share, More, Reply, or Actions Menu button shown in that app, then tap Print; swipe up if Print is hidden. Tap No Printer Selected and choose a printer. On an iPad, open a PDF or image in Preview, tap the Actions Menu beside the filename, tap Print, select a printer, and tap Print again.

Keep the two paths separate as you work. The iPhone route begins in the app holding your item, while the iPad route below begins in Preview. Choose the section that matches the device and starting screen in your hand.

Start With the Item and Device You Are Using

Open the item you intend to print before looking for a print command. On iPhone, that means staying in the app where the item is already open. On iPad, these instructions begin with a PDF or image in Preview. Starting in the right place prevents a product page, download screen, or unrelated browser tab from becoming the focus of the print task.

The first iPhone button depends on the app, so look for the label or icon in front of you rather than choosing one from memory. Preview on iPad is more specific: its Actions Menu sits beside the filename.

Follow the iPhone AirPrint Route

Apple’s current iPhone printing instructions use AirPrint. For this route, use an AirPrint-enabled printer on the same Wi-Fi network as the iPhone. Settle that connection first, then move through the controls in order:

1. Open the app you want to print from. 2. Tap Share, More, Reply, or Actions Menu, depending on the app. 3. Tap Print. If it is not visible, swipe up in the open menu and look again. 4. Tap No Printer Selected, then choose the printer you want to use.

The changing first button is part of the iPhone path. In one app, Share may open the actions that include printing; in another, the way in may be More, Reply, or Actions Menu. Once that menu is open, follow the exact Print label rather than a nearby command with a different name.

If Print is below the visible choices, the upward swipe is the useful move. It keeps you in the same menu and reveals more actions without sending you through another app or settings screen.

Print a PDF or Image From Preview on iPad

Apple’s current iPad Preview instructions give a shorter path for a PDF or image. Begin in Preview rather than carrying over the iPhone button sequence:

1. Go to the Preview app on the iPad. 2. Open the PDF or image you want to print. 3. Tap the Actions Menu beside the filename, then tap Print. 4. Select a printer, then tap the Print button.

The menu’s position beside the filename is a helpful landmark. Use it to stay with the open item instead of opening an unrelated control elsewhere in Preview. The first Print opens the printing path; the final Print comes after printer selection.

This route is especially easy to scan if you pause between those last two taps. First confirm that you are in the print screen and have selected the printer you intend to use. Then use the final Print button Apple names.

Choose the Printer Without Mixing the Labels

The two devices ask for a printer in slightly different language. On iPhone, tap the field labeled No Printer Selected and choose the printer you want to use. In Preview on iPad, the instruction is simply to select a printer before tapping Print. Follow the label on the screen you are using instead of searching for the other device’s wording.

Read the printer name before moving on, especially if more than one household printer appears. That small pause helps keep the job with the destination you meant to choose.

Check or Cancel an iPhone Job in Print Center

After an iPhone print job enters the queue, you can see its status without reopening the original app. Open the App Switcher, then tap Print Center. The badge on the Print Center icon shows how many documents are waiting in the queue, which makes it easy to tell whether more than one job is there.

To stop one of those jobs, select it in Print Center and tap Cancel Printing. Select the job first so the cancel command applies to the item you mean to stop. Print Center is the queue view for a job already sent from iPhone; the Share, More, Reply, or Actions Menu route is where a new print task begins.
