We reviewed current Etsy listing text and media on August 7 and opened two purchased customer PDFs page by page. The examples below show why the file list matters more than a generic “digital” label.

A listing may count designs, PDF pages, or separate images. Cat Strawberry Picnic demonstrates the difference: 35 PDF pages, 30 coloring designs, and 31 advertised PNG files are three measures, not competing versions of one number.

If you want to print the files

1. After Etsy confirms payment, download the original files and save them in a clearly named folder.
2. If a file is a ZIP, extract it before trying to open the PDF or images inside.
3. Open the original PDF rather than printing a small browser preview.
4. Select one representative page and print a test at actual size or 100% when the page and paper match.
5. If a border clips, use the printer’s Fit or printable-area option; then test the intended coloring supply.
6. Print only the pages you want and keep the original download as your permitted-use backup.

If you want to color on a tablet

First check whether the listing supplies separate images or only a PDF. Then check the documentation for the drawing app you plan to use. Some apps import a PDF as one or more flat canvases; others may require exporting a page as an image first. Coloring Nest does not promise a Procreate, Photoshop, or other app workflow unless the exact listing verifies it.

• Layers: a PDF, JPG, or PNG can be completely flat. File extension alone does not prove editable line and color layers.
• Transparency: PNG supports transparency as a format, but a particular PNG may still contain an opaque white background.
• Resolution: the listed 8.5-inch page size describes intended dimensions, but an app may create a different canvas on import. Check before investing time in a page.
• Coloring beneath line art: this is simplest when transparent line art or a compatible blend-mode workflow is verified. Do not assume the supplied files provide it.
• Export and backup: save the original download separately before editing, then test how the app exports a finished copy.

Download delivery, ZIPs, and mobile access on Etsy

Etsy’s official digital-download help says instant-download files become available after payment is confirmed. Signed-in buyers can use their Purchases page; guest buyers receive a link in the receipt email. Etsy currently says digital purchases cannot be downloaded through the Etsy app, so use Etsy in a mobile browser or on a computer when retrieving the files.

Etsy also tells sellers it supports both PDF and ZIP uploads, among other file types. A ZIP is a container, not a coloring format: extract it to see whether it holds PNGs, JPGs, another PDF, or something else. If the listing does not name the contents, ask the seller before purchase rather than assuming.

License, backup, privacy, and refund checks

License

The current listing and included terms control the purchase. Coloring Nest’s license guide describes intended personal, household, classroom, and directly managed small-group use unless a listing says otherwise. Do not share the source files, place them on a public drive, resell them, or import them into a product or app for distribution.

Backup

Keep the original PDF or ZIP unchanged in a labeled folder and work from a copy. Etsy says purchases are generally available from the Purchases page while the transaction remains available, but your own organized backup avoids relying on a future login or email search.

Privacy

A downloaded PDF does not require a coloring-app account merely to remain on your device. If you import a page into third-party software or cloud storage, that provider’s permissions, account, sync, and privacy terms apply. Review them before uploading a purchased page, especially on a shared device.

Refunds and problems

Etsy’s help page states that digital listings cannot be returned or canceled through ordinary listing return settings. It also explains that qualifying problems, such as an item not matching its description, may be covered by Etsy Purchase Protection. Read the live listing before purchase and contact the seller through Etsy if the files cannot be opened or differ from what was described.

Does a PDF work in Procreate?

Do not assume so from the word PDF. Check the current app’s import documentation and the listing’s supplied files. Even when import is possible, the page may arrive flat rather than layered.

Is a PNG always transparent?

No. PNG can support transparency, but the actual file may have a white background. None of the separate PNG bundles discussed here was independently opened for a transparency check.

Can I print only one page?

Yes, a multipage PDF normally lets you choose a page range in the print dialog. Test one page before printing a full set.

Do I need to print at all?

No, but successful tablet use depends on the supplied file and the app you choose. The listing does not automatically include software.
